Finance Team

The Finance Team is a group of individuals with gifting in financial stewardship who are organized to provide financial advice and direction to the operating staff, as well as to review financial statements, budgets, audits/reviews, and financial policies before they are presented to the Elders Board for approval.  This team also exists to provide financial counsel and advice to the Elders Board directly.  The Treasurer normally sits as the Chair of the Finance Team.

The vision of the Finance Team is that RockPointe is a place where:

  1. There are sufficient financial resources so that all current ministries can grow and new ministries can be developed, as required to meet the needs and goals of RockPointe.
  2. We operate with budgets that are based on the vision of our ministries, not on perceived financial resources.
  3. We communicate in a timely and regular fashion the financial status of RockPointe so that people are aware of the most current financial situation of the Church and of their individual levels of generosity to date through giving.
  4. We will be open and honest with respect to information for the people of RockPointe and will ensure all reporting follows generally accepted accounting principles to ensure accurate information is provided to all stakeholders.
  5. We will ensure that systems of internal control are in place so as to not only safeguard the assets but also provide the supporters of RockPointe comfort in the integrity of those entrusted with the use of resources provided by RockPointe.
  6. Ensure the financial organizational structures that are in place that will (i) facilitate the receipt of donations from various sources and (ii) effectively handle the multi site structure.
  7. We clearly demonstrate that we care, appreciate and recognize the generosity of our people.
  8. The people of RockPointe experience financial health in their daily living characterized by:  Giving with a spirit of generosity according to Biblical principles of living within their means; having a sound understanding of financial and investing principals; having a well-defined financial plan for the future.
