We love community at MetroMercy, and we are intentional about developing community with our family, our neighbours, and our compassion.

Rhino_-_MMAs a church, we want to be a family – to be connected beyond happy smiles and shaking hands and rely on and support each other through all that life brings.  Our passionate devotion to God unites us, and allows us to tolerate each others’ quirks and our mistakes as we encourage each other in spiritual growth, worshiping our Creator and the Lover of our souls.  We are deeply commited to one another – not only to our family, but also to our neighbours and the people we connect with every day.  We commit to live out our faith with our friends, and to live genuine and honest lives that reflect the significance of the life we have found in Christ.  All this in light of our compassion, which compels us to uphold the cause of the weak and the poor and the hurting – to stand up for the oppressed, and partner together to facilitate social change.

As a result, our discipleship M.O. is simple: Get to know and follow Jesus.  Build significance into our relationships.  Enjoy life with our neighbours. Serve the community in pursuit of social redemption and justice.

We are the church.  All three spheres of community development equally comprise our understanding of how we will be the church in unity, without walls.  Our family is all-inclusive, and it is our desire that all who come in contact with the MetroMercy family, either by word or deed, will experience and know the love of Jesus and His deep compassion for us and for our world.  We will be a people and a place where those who want to see the world change - to make a difference and to be changed in the process - can come together in worship, united to be more together than they ever could be individually.  That’s why the church is called the bride of Christ.  We are better together, united.  We are the church, and we must learn that social justice is another way of saying “love your neighbour as yourself.”  We love God, we engage in social justice, and we are transformed along with the world around us in the process.  We believe that meaning in life is to love and be loved, and that kind of community is not an additive, it is something we dedicate ourselves to, something we are willing to sacrifice for.  Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”  We're going to do that.  We are not talking about a new model or a new way of doing church, it is about living to God’s glory and for the sake of His kingdom, and we will count the cost both as individuals and as a community, helping others at our own expense and loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Anyone interested in learning more about what motivates us to hope for a better world and do something about it are invited to join our weekend worship gatherings.
