To start a relationship with God today through Jesus Christ these steps will help you.  Remember prayer is talking to God.

1. Acknowledge that you have sinned against God and tell him you are sorry and wish to turn from all that is wrong.   “For God so loved the world (mankind) that He gave his only son that whoever would believe (believe that he died for them) would not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
   “If we confess our sin he (God) is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9
2. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for you personally ……thank Him for dying for you.
3. Ask him to come into you life and to live there.  “Behold I stand at the door of your heart an knock if you will open the door I will come in and abide with you”.
4. Ask Jesus to give you direction in your life.  This means that from now on you desire God to make his will for you known to you and you give up your right to control all the things in your life.  This is process of daily inviting God to lead and direct you.
