What Does a Small Group Look Like?

Generally, you can expect:

  • 8-12 other people, who desire to grow spiritually, build friendships and serve others;
  • To share a meal or enjoy a time of relaxed community and fellowship;
  • To utilize Biblically based studies or curriculum and spend time in scripture;
  • To have discussion and dialogue.

The small group is more than just a Bible study. It is a place to apply scripture to your circumstances. A place to share your story. You will find that it's a great place to:

  • Engage in challenges, encouragement and accountability.

When relationships are forged and healthy, small groups encourage each other in these ways:

  • Prayer;
  • Weekly or bi-weekly meetings;
  • Service outside the church walls in some form or fashion;
  • As a place to feel loved and valued. A place where you are important.
  • As a safe place to share. Where your privacy and opinions are honoured and respected.
  • As a place to have a great time!

Small groups are not meant to be intolerably serious! Enjoying a faith community means having fun too. Many of our groups have BBQs, campfires, ski vacations, camping trips, game nights…etc!
