Welcome to Bowridge Womenʼs Bible Studies!

We are striving to produce an environment where women of all backgrounds and faith levels can come and build not only nurturing relationships but also to be challenged to go deeper into their faith journey. A variety of topics are explored including scripture study, Christian life, relationships and prayer. Studies are offered for women on two different days with one meeting the needs of those who can attend week day mornings and one study for those whom an evening session would better suit their schedule. Childcare is offered at the morning sessions only.

Monday Evenings

Dates: April 16 - May 28 (no study Victoria Day)
Location: Fireside room Bowridge
Time: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $20
Topic: Faithful, Abundant and True
  • Kay Arthur teaches from basically, the entire book of Hebrews! Hebrews is both an example of God's faithfulness and a challenge to believers to be faithful in difficult times.
  • Priscilla Shirer teaches from Ephesians 3:20-21 on God's abundance. A fundamental basis for every believer is the absolute reality that God can do whatever He chooses to do. God's ability empowers our faithfulness.
  • Beth Moore teaches on the topic of discernment. In these difficult days it is absolutely essential that we learn to trust the Holy Spirit to enable us to determine what is true and what is false.

While these three women each speak on the distinctive topic the Holy Spirit had lead them to teach, the messages result in a marvelous blend. Kay challenges us to faithfulness in difficult days. Priscilla points to the essential of trust in God's ability, and Beth teaches on how to discern truth from error in these difficult days.

 Topics: The Journey of Desire

Sometimes it seems we just can't get what we want. Circumstances thwart our best-laid plans. We struggle to live a heartfelt life. Worst of all, says Eldredge, the modern church mistakenly teaches its people to kill desire (calling it sin) and replace it with duty or obligation (calling it sanctification). As a result, at best Christians tend to live safe, boring lives of resignation. At worst, their desire eventually breaks out in destructive ways such as substance abuse, affairs, and pornography addictions. In The Journey of Desire, Eldredge invites readers to rediscover God-given desire and to search again for the life they once dreamed of.  Done in book club format we will use John Eldredge's classic book to look at how to ignite our desires that have long been dormant. This Spring join our morning study group as we embark on the Journey of Desire.
